About us

Most content on search fund investing falls into one of two categories: dense academic papers that nobody outside a business school reads, or surface-level explainers that leave you with more questions than answers.

Search Fund Insider exists because neither was good enough.

Who Is Behind This Site

Search Fund Insider was founded by an investment professional with over 15+ year of experience across private equity, business acquisition, and alternative investments in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

Over the years, that work involved sitting across the table from searchers raising their first fund, investors allocating capital to ETA for the first time, and business owners navigating succession for companies they had spent a lifetime building. The conversations were always richer than anything published online.

This site is the attempt to change that.

What Search Fund Insider Is

This is an independent publication. No search fund pays to be featured here. No investor relations team reviews articles before they go live. No affiliate relationship influences editorial judgement.

Every article is written to inform a real decision — whether that decision is raising a search fund, backing one, selling a business to one, or simply trying to understand what the model actually is before committing to anything.

The perspective here is deliberately global, with a particular focus on the European market — a geography where search fund activity is growing fast but quality information remains genuinely scarce.

Who This Site Is For

Search Fund Insider is written for three groups of people:

Aspiring searchers — MBA graduates, mid-career professionals, and operators who are considering Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition as a path to business ownership and want to understand the model before committing to it.

Investors — High-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional allocators who are evaluating search funds as an alternative asset class and need practical, honest analysis rather than marketing material.

Business owners — Founders and owner-operators who are approaching succession and want to understand whether selling to a search fund entrepreneur might be the right path for their company and their legacy.

If you are in one of those three groups, this site was built for you.

What to Expect

Three new articles publish every week — every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Topics range from foundational explainers to tactical how-to guides, European market analysis, deal structuring, investor due diligence, and case studies from the global ETA ecosystem.

The standard is simple: every article has to be useful to someone making a real decision. If it does not clear that bar, it does not get published.
